can you tell us more about this push-to-start setup?

Ahh yes, my jerryrigged ignition barrel setup

White (batt 12v) to 30 on the relay, pin 1 on the toggle switch and pin 1 on the press switch
Black/Yellow (starter wire) to 87 on the relay
Black/White (ignition/accessory wire) to pin 2 on the press switch

Pin 2 on toggle switch to 85 on the relay and 86 on relay/press switch ground to chassis ground

Press switch in (supplies ignition/accessory to vehicle), flick toggle switch (fires starter) and vehicle runs
To ‘turn vehicle off’, press the switch again to cut ignition/accessory power to vehicle

100%, will be a long journey but keen to chip away at it

Did the usual things with the engine bay, deleted the battery tray. Forgot Spot Weld drill bits existed so made a dogs breakfast of it but learnt my lesson when I was decluttering the firewall

Pulled the Motor and Box out last night, first time ever messing around with a Datsun Automatic so it was a learning curve to detach it from the car so I could pull it all out as one unit

And luckily found a buyer instantly so I won't have it hanging around, straight into the Ute and dropping it off this morning to the buyer

Appreciate the kind words!

I don't want this forum to sink into the land of lost like many other of my other favourite forums back in the day so I am trying to add content that people will get use out of for years to come. Everything in this thread is hosted on an old Tumblr Account that I use/used solely for hosting images. I deem it safe as I can't imagine that website will be going anywhere in a hurry and also, its FREE (up yours Photobucket/Flickr)

You might have noticed I have added to the Techwiki as well, it is mostly just information that I am actively researching for myself that I think would be beneficial to be brought into 2025
