These factory parts make your exhaust absolutely quiet. With an original muffler, you couldn't hear the engine idling

Google search and japanese search

The muffler clamp RINGs and the hanging STRAP take all the vibrations out. Generic versions of these parts work OK

The rubber hangers have B10 Datsun 1000 part numbers

26030-18001 RING-rubber, muffler clamp

Early B210 to 1975 (including 120Y) looks the same, but as usual has an H50 part type, so they may be slightly different. Oh, by the way, when you get new ones, they seem too small. But they stretch to fit

26030-H5000 RING-rubber, muffler clamp 30x39mm inside diameter, 13mm diameter

Datsun 910/S110 Silvia and Nissan R30 Skyline/C31 use similar rings, but they are thicker (15 mm). Nissan 20630-N8200

Buy at Bprojects or https://datsun1200.jp

The strap (rectangular) rubber hanger uses M8 bolts and washers. It would be easy to make one, with some kind of heat-resistent material: 90x30x12mm with 2 M8 holes on 60mm centers. Or get one off a 280ZX, 810 Maxima, Urvan, Vanette, 240Z or 510/610/710 20640-18000

* The Muffler is located just in front of the rear axle, under the rear seat

* The body of the muffler is suspended by two rubber rings. When one breaks after about 10 years, the other one gets loose and just hangs around

* Coupe & Sedan have the same muffler location, only the bend shape of the tailpipe portion differs a little. This bend allows the pipe to go over the rear axle

* Tailpipe exits at the rear, below the bumper. Using a slightly longer tailpipe can help with fumes

For sharp looks, you can fit a stainless extension which looks good forever. Needs to fit a 1.5 inch pipe, and while most aftermarket tips are larger they fit a range of smaller pipe sizes

or a cheaper chrome tip like this factory B110/B210 option, which looks fabulous for a few years

This is a vintage Nissan Muffler Cutter with part number 20321-H2500. It is a new old stock (NOS) part, meaning it is an original, unused part from a past production run.

* This type of part is often sought after by collectors and restorers of classic Datsun and Nissan vehicles.

* The packaging indicates it is a genuine Nissan part.

* The item is a chrome exhaust tip, designed to be fitted to the end of the tailpipe

There was one genuine Datsun muffler for sale on Yahoo August 2025. It had 8 bids and sold for 34 USD

It is a B210 part number, and looks identical to the B110 part, but is a little longer at 329mm (1-3/8" longer than B110). There is plenty of room in a sedan for this. It (conveniently) has the tailpipe cut off for storage and shipping

And here is another NOS (deadstock) muffler, this time an aftermarket (equivalent) part, a Toyo Gold muffler N-150. It was on Yahoo earlier this year and didn't sell at 32,000 Yen

The last one I bought was a well-used factory muffler, but it was still quieter than modern replacements ... and it fit perfect

Here's a factory piece I never noticed before. It prevents the muffler from banging against the floor

20635-18000 STOPPER-muffler
* B10 (all except earliest)
* B110

Early B210 to 1975 and all VB210 use the similar 610 bumper 20635-K0101

NZ Datsun Parts has this rubber bumper part for sale

When it's time to fit the muffler to the exhaust pipe

The muffler input slips over the exhaust pipe coming from the manifold

This clamp tightens it down with an M8 bolt
20620-H1000 CLIP-tube, exhaust
replaced by
20643-B5000 CLAMP-exhaust tube (from 1973-11)

Because I didn't have the factory clip, I used a 1.5" muffler u-bolt

To make sure the exhaust seals, use the factory Datsun muffler seal in the exhaust pipe groove
20720-N2226 EXHAUST TUBE SEALANT

or a tube of generic muffler sealant:

VB110 muffler sold on Yahoo for 84 AUD

It's a Matuko muffler. Matuko went out of business in 2017. Perhaps the last vendor of 1200-specific mufflers?

wagon/van has a kink near the rear hanger. Is that to clear the fuel tank filler hose?
