While out at the wreckers here in Seattle, I came across several 5-speeds (60-series). The asking price is 200-225 but might be able to get them for less through bargaining.

Let me know if you are interested, I can get them for you and when you come to Seattle or Portland you can pick them up from me. They weigh 65 pounds.

I would like one, if they are in good condition. But I should check out that wreckers in Raymond first to see what they got prehaps.
I'll let you know.

btw, got my truck in a drivable condition this past weekend, apart from flat tires but still need to solve my braking issues I think

Peace bro

Never seen a non-overdrive 5-speed in a USA model. I think they were race-only here.

don't suppose you'd want to ship it? I need a new 5 speed. I'm having problems with the 1-2-3 syncros and reverse is un-happy. I knew that dgav would make the tranny die

nevermind bought one on ebay - $350

Yes, I'm willing to ship, but only if I can figure out how to pack it. It needs a strong box that weighs less than 5 pounds, and is the right length.

Are there places one can go to buy a custom size cardboard shipping box?

The other issue is testing ... I know how to inspect a tranny from outside the car, but it doesn't guarantee everything is right. The yards will guarantee it, but it would be a pain to have to ship it back ...
