OK
What was the method of lowering the front, &,... is this a street car, or a racer?

I found that fitting a front sway bar was helpfull. Good shocks are always a good idea. You will find that the 1200 coupe copied the 1000's rear shock setup, so don't go looking for Koni's for a 1000, look for them for the 1200 & 120Y coupes.

I'm told that you can convert LC & LJ Torana front shocks for use on the 1000. I hope so as i have Konis for these as well, with the intention of using them on my coupe.

Unlike the later cars with pogo stick suspension, you can adjust ALL aspects of the wheel alignment in a non destructive way with just a standard wheel alignment procedure.
The 1000 has a real suspension.

Edit
OK, i checked, it's for street use. Don't get too carried away with the handling thing as it doesn't take much for these things to be quite good, & it doesnt take much to make a mess of ride quality & tyre life either.

The method in which i lowered the car was simply to cut the rubber stopper 3/4 of an inch...

I assume for the back a lowered harder spring and some good shocks would be the go???

I am also interested in way an LC torano couldnt i just measure the size the shock has to be and tell koni to give me shock that will fit!!!

Yes it will be a street car, ride doesnt particulaly bother me overly i drive go garts so any car that i hop into always feels luxurious!!!

Thanks for the response!!!

If I remember on the weekend I'll try to get pics of my torana shocks on the front of my 1000 coupe.
Monroe Gas with modifications
They don't go straight on but its not too hard to adapt them
The compressed and extended lenghts are close enough to work

Later I'll get details of my coilover setups for front and back. But you'll have to wait till I finish those.

you need to 'drop' the balljoint.

I lowered my old 1000 coupe with the traditional reverse leaf method - even at the front. This increases spring rate also. Lowering by simpy cutting the pad away while keeping standard spring rates won't improve handling much in itself, and could easily result in alot of bottoming out.

I have also heard of a single leaf out of a landcruiser pack being used on the front of a 1000. But I suspect it was also reset to achieve the desired ride height.
