Ok,

Can someone confrim that this works? One guy goes to a wrecker and grabs the entire rear end out of a Dat 720 ute (springs and all). They then reckon they bolt it straight into the 120Y.

Is this true???? Or is it 'making the 30 minute time slot'???

TC

hehe as you suspected, there's now way without even looking at the two cars that this could be possible

is a 720 the same in US as it is here in AU ? monster garage and another show American Hotrod are a great watch. they do some crazy #### but it usually seems to turn out ok.
its about time one of these car modify type tv shows did a classic datto.

edit:
hooray i saw the episode !! heres some of the stuff they do to the nice old '74 B210.
- cut front springs, standard struts.
- Datsun ute model 720 rear end (H165 ?? H190 ??) didnt notice which leafs used. doesnt seem to be a str8 bolt-on
- really really bad paintjob (looked better stock)

In the USA the 720 comes with an L20B and crappy downdraft carb, four speed, and something in the 4.xx for a rear end. Oh, and it does have the load based braking bias control system.

Second, personally I get apprehensive about Datsun cars on these TV shows and in other visible areas like "drift". Sure, it shows what you can do with these cars, but also gets people who should not have these cars/parts getting them and then crapping them out in the name of being cool. We don't need punk idiots going out and slamming already rare cars into lampposts, or braking already rare parts doing things they should not be doing in the first place. If something looks cool, you know that there will be people who jump on that car

My friend recorded this on vhs, so I have a copy now. Probably the best episode IMO.

I'll do a copy of the VCD I made (will play on just about any DVD player) including postage for $7AUD.

Let me know if interested...
