""i reckon if ya gonna have a scoop youve gotta have at least a vague reason for its use""

for that reason i reckon it should be on the passanger side above where the intakes on the carbies are (if youve got twin carbies, i think stock still took air from here) ive never liked the fact that the exhaust sits under the carbies making all that hot air without any sort of heat shield to protect intake tempratures.
oh and i reckon the patrol scoops pretty awesome
anyway thats my 2 cents

p.s. wouldnt mind seing a revival of the XA-XC falcon GT bonnet scoops (Probably wouldnt match 1200 but still best scoop ive seen, specialy stock)

Just to be a nit picking pain in the arse,....The XA used a flat style NACA duct and the XB/XC got the bonnet scoops from the 71/72 Mustang. I agree they are a horny looking scoop. I have a set of brand new XA ones and have 2 sets of XC ones they are on my XC GS panel van and my wifes XC GS sedan. Both have 4V 351 Clevos and the sedan runs a 4 speed toploader and Hurst shifter. I love Dattos but I also love the sound of a strong V8. To keep it balanced I've also got a 78 Z28 it has some nice scoops on it as well. I guess I'm stuck in the 70s but I don't care the inerest is only the cars you'll never see me in flares.. that is as in jeans.

I think in proportional size from a cuda to a datto, just a straight swap scoop, would probably end up taking up the whole of the datto bonnet.

I seen cuda's in real life, i used to be (still am i guess) a mopar freak, in fact, as weird as it sounds, i am wearing my chrysler car club jumper right now. It was cold!

if you could somehow make them smaller, then wicked! but full size cuda scoops?

your call anyway, whichever way you go i'll probably still end up getting panels off ya

hey good point there jesse! i wasn't even thinkng about size being proprtional to each other. DUH i used to own a 74 dodge charger and they do have some fairly good sized hoods on them and are basicly monstrous when compared to a datto hood.

i know this is a datto board but i just gotta tell you guys my charger story since i was reminded of it. i'm by trade a mopar freak as well as a datsun lover. i'm sort into fords but just mostly the 2.3L. any way i saw my charger sitting out next to a parking lot and liked the lines of it. i didn't think much of it till i noticed that over a course of a year the car had not moved. i was interested in a summer project so i left a note on the windshield. the next day i get aphone call from the owner and she quoted me the price of a whopping $200. i asked her if there was any problmes with it and she said she didn't think it would run. well i come up with the cash and got the title. i take my parents car up there with a ittle bit of gas in a can. take the air cleaner off and prime the car pumping the gas pedal a few times. hooked up the jumper cables let it sit for about 5 minutes thengave it a try. nothing happened... but on the third try it roared to life i couldn't belive it. i parked my parents car ,locked it up and drove the charger home, it was gutless as all hell but it drove. after that i went back to my parents car and picked it up. now i'm back home and doing the basic maintanance stuff to it. to my amazement i had been driving it on only 3 cylinders!! all the other plugs were fouled with oil. i changed them out and went for a test drive. i tryed to take off like it was still gutless with out thinking about it and "accidently" laid a nice patch of rubber in front of the parents house . sadly i was stupid and sold it for $600 and motorcycle about a year later. i definitely miss that car. did i mention that this motor had ovr 300,000 miles on it with nothing more done to it than a rebuilt carb? never gave me poblems just he occasional heat soak on a really hot day that was it.

dont get me started on mopar stories and laying rubber

before i even knew what a pushrod was, about a month ago (kiddin)....

i made friends with someone from my old school. Turned out his dad had an E38 6-pack in the shed. For you US dudes, it's our aussie racing charger thats based on your dodge dart. But these things pulled 13.8 1/4 mile times stock. That was the day i was absorbed into the valiant/chrysler community. Feeling 300hp under your foot, and the noise of those triple webers, FARK, those things are NOISEY or what geeesus....

laying LS rubber up his driveway for a few weeks until it was stripped and was going to be restoed. But it is still waiting to see the street again....4 years later

on the topic of scoops....how about mazda 1800?
