Given the rising cost of fuel i was wondering a couple of things? How much does it cost you to fill up, what engine are you using, gearbox and how many k's to a tank you generally get. I have the a12 with the 4spd in my 120Y and it costs about $35-$40 to fill when completely empty like a couple of liters left in the tank and i get 650kms i reckon.

Cheers

One of the times i did a real fuel consumption check on my 1200 ute was when i drove home from Bendigo in central Victoria one night after the big swap meet. This was the year that i had the 1200GX & five speed in it
I filled the tank before departing & refruelled once only in Holbrook [a little north of Albury] I made it home at midnight after a journey of 450 miles in exactly 450 minutes. I had no problem making that tankfull of fuel last 250 miles [400k] in pure cruise mode at an average speed of 60mph [100kph]

I replicated this mileage figure later in the year when i drove just over 1,700k in a single 23hr period in the same ute. God it felt good to finally get out.

In my ute (A15) with dogleg 5 speed I get around 350 - 400 kms per tank. A fill is usually about 30 - 32 litres. This covers daily driving in Melbourne, mainly peak hour to and from work, so there's lots of stop start driving. Engine is standard with a Hitachi carb.

Fuel economy is on par with my last ute which was an A12. Obviously the A15 does not need to be driven as hard to keep up with traffic.

Any one else got an auto a12?

Mines gettin only 160km / $25-$30 fuel with a single dellorto

This is verry poor fuel consumption just wondering if any one else is in the auto club and has poor fuel consumption?

The CA18DET gets 7-10L/100kms. So on a 35L tank, you should expect 300-400kms.

So your Dellorto'd A12 getting Less than 200kms/tank, you are really burning money dude. Get that Dellorto tuned.

Interesting to see the difference everyone gets. Does anyone use premium maybe the guys with CA's and SR's isnt that supposed to be more fuel friendly but considering the extra in price id rather not at the moment.

I should say that a CA18DET on a race track can use up to 60-100L/100kms.

Yeah tell me about it I cant believe how much its using. I have spent more money than you can emagine on that carb and it hasnt changed the fuel consumption that much even with the standard carb it sucked a fair bit of juice I just put it down to having my foot flat to the floor the whole time to get the thing moving it is an auto remember.
