Where to route cable?

I am moving the battery and box to the boot of my coupe. This is in order to replace the interior for RWC.

Thus I need to be able to route the cable through to the boot without rubbing under front or rear seats etc

Any ideas or suggestions? Or pics?

I figure the best spot to be aiming to put the battery is behind the passenger side wheel well (Australian model).

I did mine when it was still a road car. I mounted it directly above the centre of the rear axle, right behind the backseat.

Don't go under the back seat, go through the 'door card' instead. then it can run along the sill, under the front seat is no problem as they don't actually touch the floor of the car. Just keep it up against the side of the car in the footwells, and the cable should also be protected by conduit in the car.

mines mounted in the back left next to the spare tire

i had the theory of running it down the centre of the car so a side impact wont cut the cable, kinda safer maybe

i ran it under the back seat but that wasnt such a great idea as the wire gets crushed at the front of the seat where it exits, then it goes along the tunnel on the drivers side and through the firewall near the clutch cable somewhere there onto the starter motor terminal

By the 'door card' you mean the trim where the back door should be?

I'm actually moving the battery from the back seat so to go to above the diff centre I won't actually be moving far.

So I already have the cable (although I'm not sure if it will be long enough) and conduit. Where do you go through the fire wall?

Currently the setup I have (as purchased) utilizes one of the heater hose holes to then drop straight down to the starter motor terminal.

What gauge wire should I be using? The stuff there is a resonable size but I wouldn't want to replace the whole lot if it isn't long enough.

yep, wasn't sure what to call it.

I went through an existing hole in the firewall where the main wiring harness goes through. But the heater hose hole is fine - if you don't have a heater!

I'm sure it all works, I bought it off 4nik8. It just doesn't have hot water "on tap" so it's not hot, at all... Made it through initial RWC thou, don't tell anyone. Bolted in, just no water hoses. I'll worry about that later.
