i,m just wondering if a 1200 coupe can be legal with an sr20 in it my bro says if you engerneer it i live in vic any difference

it has been done. SR1200 was his plates and he had a 1200 coupe with a SR20DET, aftermarket computer big 440 roller turbo. then he crashed into a pole and i bought his diff

From the research i've done there is a rule for cars under 1.25 or 1 tonne.
This rule states that the maximum capacity engine in a car can only be 3x the weight for NA or 2.5x the weight for turbo.
So....for a 720kg datsun you can have a turbo'd 1.8l engine or a 2.16l NA engine.
This is for NSW but probably oher states aswell.

Duno if he's wanting it road legal...
I have a sneaking suspision that NIS15L might know something about it as theres a post on the thread the photos came from where NIS15L is saying 'i want those wheels' and now he has them... just an assumption or please correct me!!

not in the ACT it isnt. there is a 1200 ute here in canberra that has a sr20det. and it is street registered
