the 1200 box will bolt up to the a14 without a problem, you'll probably need to use the sunny gearbox cross member and i think the tail shaft should be ok.
i'm sure someone will jump in to correct me if i'm wrong

Everything will bolt up fine, im using a 56a series (out of a A12) in my A15 powered (practically same as A14) and the thing bolts up fine, same tail shaft length/dimensions aswell
And the cross member that would be on the 1200 (A12) box will fit in the already A14 box holes, just only uses to bolts instead of 4, dont matter tho if done up tight enough

Ratios are slightly different in the 56 compared to the 60
if you give it a hard time the 56 will eventually break behind an A15

mine have

Yeah ive noticed that, 1st gears a bit taller i can cruise in traffic in slow moving traffic without it whineing like it use to in 1st... My 60 series conked out on me before, was slopppy as sh|t, kicked out of 2nd occasionally and had a 'clunk clunk' when the clutch wasnt pressed! Not too nice at all, but the 56 is working wonders me thinks, next thing i know BANG..,,damn!
