For all Australian members.
I want to fit inertia reel seat belts in my 1200 sedan and want to know if any of you have done the same. If so:
Where did you source the belts?
Were there any mounting problems? There is not much room between the lower outside mounting point and the seat
for the locking mechanism.
Did you use belt for the buckle section or the rigid steel cord?
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

ihave a sedan aswell ,and i got my belts from autobarhn afew years ago, your right you do have little room between the seat and the machanism so you may have to have it far enough foward to
clear.... or you could do what idid afew years ago ,i got some kb (i think thas the model)ford laser seats they only cost about 50 bucks, took out my origanal seats , took the rails off and
mesured to th distance between, i found where the rails sit on the lazer seat there was steel frame so i took off the origanal lazer rails and drilled holes in the frame where they needed
to go. next i bought ne high tensile bolts and bolted the 1200 rails on using the laser washers but i swaped the laser drivers to be the passenger and vice versa...whulla new seats that
clear and are a hellava lot more comfortable, but always remember mesure twice cut once. i have also don this with saas seats but i whent upmarket 4 my sparcos. as for the socket end i just
mounted it backwards up over the transmission tunnel but it was safe. by the way if any of this sounds dodgy i hav had the car fuly scutneered many times with a fin tooth comb and ha passed
with flying colours. any questions???

Thanks for the response. I still have one question. The manufacturers of inertia reel belts only guarantee correct operation if the angle of the belt as it leaves the locking
mechanism is less than about +-5 degrees off vertical. In the 1200 sedan, the top mount is further to the rear than the bottom mount so the belt angle would be more like 15 degrees
off vertical. Does your setup work with this angle or have you done something to fix the problem?
