i've seen ppl drag with their dat

how bout drift?
anyone drift with your dat?
will it hurt your car much?
(i scare of abroken driveshaft, broken diff, etc)

can we drift with standart diff? (no lsd)
cause it seems hard to find one lsd diff that can fit directly to my car without mod

Hey. You beat me to it. I was just about to ask if anyone else has drifted their dat be4.
I have drfited it before. Not on a track or profesionally but backroads. It slides quite easy with the small tyres but some times it just doesnt. Hope to get some more power into the Dat so i can get some more angle.

Yes you can drift without an LSD. In fact a lot of people who teach people wanting to learn drifting will say you can find the car is a little more forgiving without an LSD (i.e less likely to spin). The only time you'll find it becoming something you need is if your compete and/or you are wanting to link several corners in one drift.

As for wear and tear, this will rise exponentially, if you're going to drift, you WILL break things. Engine wear will be the first of your troubles, but your gearbox, diff, driveshaft (not quite so much), clutch, tires (especially!) and brakes will all wear out a lot quicker.

I don't drift myself, but I have close mates who do compete in the Drift Australia/Toyo Drift Nats and I see how much work they put into maintenance.

A word of advice, you really should know/be prepared to put a lot of work into your car to keep it running. Otherwise, it's a great friendly sport and tons of fun so good luck!

anything can drift, just some things are better than others. I think 1200's, 1000's, sunny's, 120y's etc would be harder to drift than many other cars due to their short wheelbase. An LSD (or most likely locker) is one of the most important aspects of a drift car, and is one of the first things you do if you want to seriously drift a car. An open wheeler is not going to cut the mustard.

The wheelbase is a bit short. However, there are some photos of a blue long wheel base ute drifting on the site if you do a search.
