Hi! I'm new here, Just kinda stumbled on this site by accident, but it's pretty cool. I have a 280Z myself, but at Our Z-clubs show last year we had a trio of 1200's show up. Very cool little cars. I take this is an Austraila based site. I've met a few Aussies and they've real cool. Not at all like that jack ass Steve Erwin "The Crocodille Hunter." anyway Just saying hello!

BackseatZ, welcome to the club. The two yellow 1200s at the Round Rock Nissan show last October were mine and the silver one belongs to AFRacer. I'm looking forward to this year's meet but unfortunately, all of my 1200s are out of commission at the moment. I'm trying to get the solid yellow one ready in time but it doesn't look too promising.
As for the site, it is actually based in Portugal! The reason there are so many Australians is the 1200 Ute (a pickup version of the 1200, kind of like an El Camino) was sold up into the 80's over there.

G'Day Mate,
For the Love of Christ PLEASE dont think all Aussie's are like Croc Boy, thats like saying all Yanks are like Pee Wee Herrman

Any way 1200 Ute's are very popular over here, I have had mine now for about 4 months and its great for a run around etc.

Oh by the way welcome to the club. This is a great place to be and everbody on a whole are very helpfull and its very interesting to read up on all the mods etc .

Regards
Andrew Shaw

Hello there Joey

Wellcome to the club

I am from Portugal and only 3 days after knowing this site I realized that it was based in here.

I have been to USA last year (Boston, MIT, June, just before 9/11) and I came back from there with a diferent idea of your country. When i get to USA I have the idea of the McDonalds America. However it is some how different and it is more rich and interesting.

Regarding the Australia, i was never there, but I am planing to be there as soon as possible. However, my fiance had some Australian coleagues and told me they were very nice and that they talk a lot (in the good sense).

I just want to say that we can not consider everyone in a country to be equal.

Ricardo

BackseatZ, I forgot to mention the Tens and Twenties car club we have going here in Texas. Check us out here.
Also, you can look at my junk here.
Finally, I like Steve Irwin. He's so "over the top!" If I were from Oz, I'd be more proud of him than Yahoo Serious! Or has everyone forgotten that idiot already?

Yep I had forgotton about Yahoo Serious or at least trying too. Do you remember a bloke called "Jacko" He is a real dead set Dickhead and Im sorry to say an Aussie as well. He played footy over here then tryed his hand at acting in a US movie, I cant remember what it is called but I do remember that a big black truck was in it and it was crap, he should have stuck to playing footy.

I had a long post written about all sorts of folks from down there but felt bad about continuing this way way way off topic thread in the main forum.
Short version of my abandoned post:
1) I vaguely remember Jacko.
2) I did know AC/DC was Australian.
3) Mel Gibson has become so Americanized that most people have forgotten he is/was Australian.
4) Paul Hogan was funny before "Crapodile Dungdee."

Mel gibson was great in mad max 1 (road warrior to the yanks ;) it is a great movie in itself and should have a place in every car buffs collection. but went downhill when he mad beyond thunderdome IMHO
and don't be fooled by steve irwin! he knows what he is doing! he's a very good businessman.. already made a mint.
