Got the E15 ET engine for my coupe project that ive started, i know that the e15 will bolt to the A series box with minimal troubles cos i tried it out. But im worried i will keep blowing them like in my ute.. anyone know of a stronger box? i was thinkin if the celica box is an upgrade to the A series, will that fit the E15?? any help would be great..
Cheers Dane...

You have two main options - the celica box and a 63A. The toyota requires either a Dellow kit or an adaptor plate like the housing off a Jatco auto box. The 63A will bolt up and has L series internals so is a pretty tough box.

No they are an A series bell housing case with L series internals. Do a search on the site for info. Converted has one for sale at the moment - they came out of US 210's and maybe some Stanzas in Aus too? Not sure....

boostin, check out converteds "race parts" classifieds ad for a 63a gearbox, thats a good price, the other option is the celica box as was said

im very interested in you project, looked into it myself, but was dissapointed at the factory power output of the e15et being less than 70kw, sure it would be easy to get more power out but i kept asking myself why... with the parts the e15et comes with (injection, ohc, turbo etc) does it come out with such a low power rating???

still would love to hear the progress reports...

thanks mate,
Yeah i have thought that too but a friend of mine that passed away owned an et that me and him built over 6months and we said once we finished his car we would do the rear wheel drive e15 thing in a 1200, we never got a chance to do it before he died.. So i really want to do it, we got 155kw out of his car so i think to myself that will go nice in a 1200...
I will keep you all posted on the progress of the car, pulled the interior out 2day and now its completely bare ..
Ps, taking His Pulsar out this weekend for a cruise, should be good......
