After some mid week tuning this week @ Autotech in Canberra the 1200 ute is now putting out 181rwkw at a fairly mild 12psi.

We are taking it out to Wakefield tomorrow (hopefully the weather holds up) to get some times on it. Should be fun!

Didn't quite manage the 15s but close. No problems with wheel spin but more with bad understeer.

He has put D01Js on the back but have alot of difficulty getting serious rubber on the front, i.e. Semi-Slicks in 195s for a 16" rim.

Another problem is lifting one of the rear wheels causing the one to spin on one or two corners. A decent sway bar will be going on to try and fix that a little. Any other ideas?

As for mods, S13 SR20DET, Microtech ECU, GCG GT28 turbo (not the S15 T28), Aftermarket filter and custom mandrel bent exhaust, diff is a borg warner LSD (out of a VN V8) 3.9 ratio. All fully engineered and street legal.

Slightly off topic but I managed a 1:10 is the S15 - Oh Yeah!

is the VNSS diff similar too the skyline R31 borg warner? i know the ratio is 3.9 also but not sure about LSD. what should i expect to pay for a ss diff disk to disk? what ratio do s13's run standard is the ratio's similar eg. apparentley with standard ute diff and s13 box the engine runs 4000rpm at 100km/h in 5th.

Not sure of the difference between the R31 and VN diffs.

We got the SS LSD disk to disk shortened and installed drive away for 3K engineered. S13's had something like 3.8, 4.1 any maybe even a 4.4 but I can't be sure.

I ran a CA18DET 1200 ute with the locked 1200 diff before going to the conversion above with the S13 box and it didn't rev that high from memory (could be wrong!)

I will have some pics up in the next couple of weeks of the trip to Wakefield, some real keen shots.
