There aren't any aftermarket tanks made specifically for a 1200, but you can buy aftermarket racing tanks. Pretty much any (small) tank will fit. There's a 1200 Coupe in WA with a 1986 Toyota AE86 fuel tank in the back (in the passenger compartment).

You might call Rod of Rod's Datsun Parts in California. Maybe he's got one.

I pulled fuel tank down , looks fine .the prob. I'm having is the fuel pump is sucking the fuel filter dry. and has a vacume on the fuel line when u pull the fuel line from the filter. I blew out all the line with air, but acts like the tank is not venting at all. none of the rubber hoses r calapsing the best I can tell ,What else can I try?

That's right. 1200 fuel tanks don't have vents. The cap is non-vented, and the smaller of the two fuel lines goes to the front of the car, where it is vented into the the engine block (near the PVC tube, back of block under the exhaust manifold).

Make sure the fule line "loop" is still in place above the tank.

This little check valve might be your problem. Looking at my Chiltons service manual, this is called a Flow Guide Valve.
I try spaying carb cleaner through this thing when it seems my tank is not venting. I usually fill the tube from the aircleaner with carb cleaner then tap on the valve. You can hear the check balls rattling.
I've been having problems with the tank venting lately and this trick didn't work. I may pull it out, soak it and blow some air though it and see how it works.

yeah , I know what that valve is , but it no longer exists on mine .It doesn't have the 1200 in it anymore.I blew back through the fuel lines with air yesterday & drove here 30 miles today , everything seems to be going fine at the moment . I have been getting a little rust in the filter from when I cleaned out the tank & didn't get aal the lose rust out .

I might have found the prob. The line coming from the tank going to the valve on the fire wall. I had it plumbed in as a return line to the fuel tank just like a 210. Didn't know cause she didn't have an engine in it when I got her.Never fooled with an A12 at all
