mate do not worry about the power from a ca
look at lagwagon for example 170kws at the wheels
then look at andrews 202kws at the wheels
if you want more info on ca's and the power they are capable of head over tonissan silvia

Did ya hear that???

CA's are a girly motor!

It pretty much depends on how much money you have to spend and how much power you want to make. If you want in excess of 200rwkw I would say go for the FJ cause you can make that easily on a standard bottom end. Anything under that and I'd say go for the CA.

Well i have owned both and i have to say i Enjoyed My FJ20T 1200 ute more than my CA18DET but my FJ was running a T3/4 Custom manifold EMS ECU 18psi so wats not to enjoy.
It fit pretty well acually there was not much needed in modification compared to the CA.
Tunnel remote Booster Hydrolic clutch the usaul.

Here a very bad pic of my FJ20 engine bay.

FJ's a dinosaur, you'd hate it, leave them all for me...

Actually, CA18 in a 1200 is a much better package, sure, the raw grunt of an FJ is kinda adictive, but they really stuff around the things that make 1200's great, eg, light weight, great balance

Even with the FJ in a big old tank like the silvia you really notice the weight in the front end, I suspect they weigh as much as a small block ford

Im not after a drag car that will run 8 sec but im after a quick car that is reliable and zippy.

Does anyone know how much weight difference there actually is between the CA an FJ..?

At the moment i think im leaning more towards the CA..
