Just thought I would start a bit of thread so we can all learn why everyone likes there Datto's ?

2. cheap to upgrade (use bit's from wreckers)

very easy and cheap to make a very well handeling, braking and accelrating package

which is the three things i desire in my car!

what i really love is that with the one car i feel i can compete it very many forms of motorsport competitively, and drive it to uni during the week

I'll go first (or not), Iv'e had heaps of cars ,V8's 6's other 4's motorbikes ,Iv'e tried everything .
But I have also had the following datsuns,A 1000 2door wagon (my first car & first datto it started it all),A 79 sunny with custom paint , A 200B (da crappa),and a couple of 120Y's.And my current ride an auto 1200 sedan (the best so far).
The reason I like the 1200's ? because there reliable , easy to work on , cheap as to fix , and of course what other small car looks as cool as a DATSUN

lots of reasons.....
#1 there cheap and easy to get parts for.
#2 there damn quik with a bit of work and the right no how.
#3 they look damn sexy"
#4 they make WANKERS driving brand new SS comom-whores and M3 bmw's look lik eabsolute fuk stains when u blow em off at the traffic lights in the little old ####ty datsun
#5 hardly any 1 has them so u dont blend in with the crowd

Why?

1. Cheap
2. Easy for upgrade parts
3. The bang for buck thing
4. To be different (unlike a Blue WRX)
5. Generally nice people own them (good peer group)
6. It's like an old family pet...It would be sad to see it go.

WHY
-cheap
-increasing in value (i made money on all my datsuns)
-dam fun to drive
-great classic lines
-plenty of mods to choose from
-make good Rally cars ,Drag cars, Circuit cars etc
-driving past fellow datsun owners and getting a wave.

I could go on for hours.

Originally my parents told me to buy one as they were a cheap and reliable car. Several years and in excess of 50 grand later, i'm still driving a Datto. I honestly doubt if there will be a time when i don't at least own one.

My first car was a 1200. Then I drove or owned about every other kind of car. In the end the 1200 was the one I cannot do without ... good handling, nimble, unique, easy to work on.

they're pretty much indestructible and they're great fun to drive. lotsof cheap, easy mods and they have angles like a car should, not all this ergonomic, organic looks that new cars have.
