Good photos..and good ute. Man there's some work in that.

Standard turbo though, but aftermarket computer. Interesting. He's still using powervalve for low rev torque.

good to see some of the smaller cars making an impact at the nats.

And dattos rule!!!!

As for using aftermarket EFI with atd turbo.

I did that with my first turbo conversion. So much easier wiring wise using aftermarket, then trying to cut and sort out wiring from a factory ECU.

very nice ute. i also noticed he is running the silvia radiator which not many people do and as i have waiting for me.

the dash is out of a silvia, much easier and cheaper to do than autometer.

the best sleeper was the 120y 4 door with a v8 and a nine inch diff. completely standard colour and interior, absolute machine !!

Which club? This one, or yours?

I was working along the Hume Highway last Friday in the Marulan area. This is the main road between Sydney & Canberra, where the Summernats are held. All of the traffic is funneled into this one road at this point & the cops & RTA inspectors were having a field day. There were cars that had been directed into the truck checking station & were geting a full going over. I cracked up. There were those who had spent a lot of money & had done an absolutely spectacular job of building some very fine cars, but had not done their homework.

The first thing would be those late 1970's & '80's cars that no longer complied with the relevant subsection of ADR 27. This is the section that relates to engine emissions. As soon as the engine is modified, it is deemed to no longer comply with the relevant ADR unless it is tested & a compliance document can be produced.

From there they start to get serious. I believe that a couple were grounded, not to be moved on a public road under their own power untill rectification of the "unroadworthy" conditions were caried out & inspected. I felt sorry for them.

P.S. ADR = Australian Design Rule
