on the ballast resistor there are 2 connections, one has two wires coming from it,(1 from the condenser and another from the positive of the coil), where does the wire that goes unto the other connection go?

My understanding is, that one wire goes to the positive of the coil, on that same terminal is a wire that goes to the crank circuit. (Live when cranking) and on the other terminal, is the wire that goes to the ignition feed. (Live when the key is on).

The idea is that when the key is on the ballast knocks down the voltage to the coil, but when the engine is cranking the coil gets a feed of full voltage, because the voltage can drop from the load of the starter motor. Then when the key is let go from crank, (back onto the on postion) the coil is only getting ballasted voltage.

hope that helps.
