Webers suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

over priced, run like shiat exept at high revs, cost bazillions to setup with linkages, filters, trumpets, socks
and cost bazillions to re-tune to a new motor
even the manifolds are over priced

i would say it would cost $1200 to setup second hand webers with second hand parts on a car, unless you got a really good deal on a set already setup for a very similar engine to your own, but still looking at $800

for this amount (around $1100)i have twin turbo and injected my car

and i dont think your much worse off compared to webers, better in some situations with the twin SU gx setup which could be on and setup for around $400 (spend the other 400-800 on something else to make your car go quicker)

let the shiat storm begin!

I dissagree rally car I bought a set of twin 45mm webbers and manifold for $450 gave them a clean out and fitted with the right jets I just used finer filters.
The old A14 used to regulary see 30mpg driveing too and from work every day and race at hillclimbs ect for two years without any problems!! it was never dynoed I used to tune them bye ear.
It made close to 150hp at the crank. It could beat standard WRX's at track days!! thats when the wrx's where first released. Have a look at most old school club cars they run twin or triple webbers. Some guys are starting to use injection as the price is coming down finally.

Is this becuase its to complicated to set up efi?

I dont understand why the old school ppl still insist on webers.

I've got a set on my car, they do sound good, and go good. but I've spent a fortune on them and they still arent perfect. I am currently in the process of adapting quad throttle bodies.

Its a bit of fiddling around but I should save the money back in about 6 months!!!

looks like webers just don't have any street cred these days. so you have to make up reasons that they are #### to justify your decision. here's a bloke with a twin turbo 4 cylinder calling twin webbers a wank! and another claiming he'll recoup the costs of his quad throttle injection installation (which won't make any more power than appropriately sized and properly tuned webers anyway) in just six months of running costs with sidedraughts! NFI! If only there were some webers in 2 Fast, 2 Furious we wouldn't be having this discussion...
