One thing that i have found calling around wreckers is that for every component, there are five names, which all sound like something else similar. I was wondering whether
there is actually a propper name for things (eg - castor rod ,radius arm, stay bar ).
thanks, linc

Actually is is an anti-sway bar. I know of no sway bars on automobiles.

Difficult as different people do use different names but as a guide...

Caster rod and tie rod are the same. They connect the outer end of the lower front arm to a forward point on the chassis.

Radius arm and lower arm are the same. That pivots on the front chassis leg and has the balljoint on the outer end connected to the bottom of the strut.

Track rod, track control arm, and connecting rod are also the same thing. That connects the steering to the steering arm on the bottom of the front
strut leg.

A sway bar is technically an anti-sway bar also known as an anti roll bar.

All old Haynes workshop manuals have an English/American Glossary in the front that lists a few of these names (although it doesn't state what part they
are)
