Depending on offset and width they will fit mate. There have been several 1200 utes featured in car magazines over the past few years that have sported 17" Simmons. Lenso's, Rays etc. I would imagine you will need to use bolt on spacers as most wheels are made only in FWD offsets nowadays.

Just be aware that your car will actually handle poorly with such large wheels and low profile tyres. But if this isn't a concern get talking to your local tyre shop.
Regards Matty

17" not worth the effort.
to fit these u need to sacrafice foot well spce. if u have a look under the front wheel arches, ther is about 15mm of clearance over the standard sized rims.
if u get 17" rims, u have a larger wheels diameter without a tyre on it. to get around this u can hit the foot well back in so that its "straight" or straighter anyway.
also note that if u do this, ur speedo will be under calibrated. meening that u'll have to go about 55km/h in a 60km/h zone.

they are possible, but its not worth the effort. 16 or 15s on a datto look huge enough.

full lock on a datto is about 2wice that of a normal car! these things have a tiny turning circle.

suspension will need to b looked at to. stiffer struts/springs will need to be fitted to prevent bottoming.

even 15's require effort to fit without causing heartache.. possibly more effort than its worth..

and as far as looks go.. im starting to think that 13 & 14 inch wheels are the best for datsun 1200's

i have 15's on my car all i did to fit em was the front part of the gaurd on one side needed a bout 5mm cut off the bottom corner, i dont see why 17's wouldnt fit, as long as theyr are only 6 inches wide 195 tyres. ppl think that because the wheel is biiger the outside diamater is bigger but its isnt, unless u want ur speedo to be out. so u just have to go to a lower profile tomake them fit, the tyres will be expensive but if u really want em thats the price u pay. also unless a cop is stupid they will know striahgt away that there is noway a 1200 came stock with 15 inch wheels, luckily enough cops are dumb enough to belive they came with 13's or even i would have been booked by now.

Nowdays in NSW ( dont know about other states)
As long as your tyres outside rolling diameter is no bigger than 1 inch larger than standard. You can run any wheel diameter you like without getting it approved.
