just have a question that hopefully someone in nsw can clarify, and that is that the rta is bringing in a new lore that u cannot get an engineers certificate for new engines, that it must be stock, or u cannot upgrade to anything over 15% engine capacity, any comments appreciated

I've not heard of that..someone is either misinformed, or there was a massive backflip in direction.

Sounds like rubbish. It would have been on the news.

Surely this doesn't mean that we can fit an L20B, then strangle it with a single carb from a 500cc motorcycle to get inside the '15% more power' rule, which then allows registration without engineereing. That would be good.

It used to be that whenever the engines 'capacity' was increased by 15% or more that engineering was required.

Beatz is correct i work for the ACT RTA I have read the new regs the biggest problem that will face servo's will be how will the be able to prove 15% increase in power as this also covers cars that have modified engines

So if you live in NSW and ACT and currently own a car with 15% increase with a engineers certifacte etc, will this make it void?
