If the dizzy is at the back of the block it is a late model one, but if it is more central of the block it is an early one. I'm pretty sure only 1200's had the issue with the different engine mounts.

1200 sedans and coupes are all delivered with the early crossmember. Utes were as well up till around 1975 or so.

I've never heard of an early or late 1200 wagon.

By early or late of course it is the engine. A 120Y motor is a "late" it has the dizzy the centre of the block.

The early A12 has the dizzy at the front of the block (at Cylinder 1).

The 'early' 1200 crossy has both legs the same lenght, the 'late' 1200 crossy - only delivered standard in the ute has one long and one short leg.

So if you want to fit 120Y motor in a 1200 you need the 'late' crossy.

All 120Y's are of the 'late' type (AFAIK)

There's a photo kicking around comparing the two crossmembers - I think it's even in the tech section....I think it's one of rb20s pics. (Only cause I remember one of the x-members is green in the comparo photo)
