Hey all.

does anyone know where i can get a CA18ET rebuild kit from in Australia? ACL are a no-go.

I have located one in the USA, but it's AU$350 + shipping + GST + import duty.

alternatively, can i use CA18DET parts as a definite?

cheers

Hay dude, you sure the ACL kits are a no go, a dude over here got his CA18DET rebuilt using a ACL kit. Cost him an arm and a leg though, about 4 grand for an assembled bottem end. That included forged pistons and quality rods. If you cant find a "KIT" then you may have to piece one together yourself. Atleast that way you can piece together using the best priced quality gear from all the different manufactors. And if you havent already tried, give Ebay a go.

CA18ET ring thicknesses
- 1.5mm
- 1.5mm
- 4.0mm

CA18DET ring thicknesses
- 1.5mm
- 1.5mm
- 2.8mm

so CA18DET bearings and shells fit, but anyone out there in the same situation will have to source genuine CA18ET rings or swap in a set of CA18DET pistons at the same time.
