Well thanks to Tommy I'm now on the Weber bandwagon. He passed on to me his DGEV 32/36 which I've fitted to my A12 with a GX head which I aquired off another member Tyrie.

I ran into very few problems along the way as well... YAY!

As you can see here in the next photo I needed to get out the angle grinder to take away some of the inlet manifold so it would fit in with my extractors. There WAS a water inlet there somewhere! I also had to grind the top corners of the extractos so that the inlet could fit in between. Set me back by about an hour.

Simple yet effective throttle cable linkage. Also the Electric choke on the Carby hooked up. This hooks up to the "N" wire on your stock Alternator. It's Yellow and is located towards the top.

Now I've set the baseline idle mixture and idle speed and tweaked them to my liking but I think it's still a bit rich. I seem to have a little flat spot when I blip the throttle at low speed. Just need to go and get it tuned this week and hopefully I'll be on the right track.

I've got a good friend that works at Dynotune in Braddon whom I may go and visit, but does anyone else have any other suggestions? Specifically A-series Weber experience!

I've also got a leaky thermostat gasket, but what I wanted to know is... Do you only use the gasket or should you apply some liquid gasket as well? I've heard mixed stories.

But the good news, much more torque down low and much, much smoother acceleration throughout the rev range.
