not the unsprung weight noooooooo, quick every one whip out your spare r32 calipers

heres thingos hoppers stoppers kit....sorry cant remember your name, copied the address a whole 30 seconds ago
looks like thats just a holden hub/disc, they go straight on the bigger datsun struts...only just fit 15s over them?

for ford stud pattern, id start with skyline/silvia hubs and discs then find a caliper to suit

hehe r32 calipers he says. still heavy...
yes it's true, some ford mustangs aka holden whatevers used the same spacing on the lug nuts, so there are some possibilities there perhaps.

those 280zx struts with everything are heavy! every pound helps in there. you'll get more value with lighter calipers than fancy disks with lots of holes.

every thing thats not standard on a 1200 is heavy...personally id rather pull up really quick than have the best ride quality, what does that even mean....ride quality which quality of the ride does it affect

anyway, the bracket for the 200b struts will be the same as late stanza
are the mazda calipers alloy?

Yes the Mazda callipers are aluminium [alloy].
The 200B struts I used have a calliper mounting distance of 89.9mm [or 3.5"] with a factory rotor diam. of 253mm [will fit under 14" rims].
With the Mazda callipers and Golf rotor, 15" rims are required.
The original plan was to use the VL turbo callipers, but the calliper mounts were wrong.
I just didn't want to spend all those $$ on a conversion that, with a little research, I could design myself.
It would have been nice to keep it all Nissan, but, it is only a parts list after all
Nowadays, Nissan 4 piston callipers are more freely available, so, whatever floats your boat

you can have some of both ride quality and good stopping. you'd probably shave more weight with a well chosen set of rims.

difference between late stanza and 200b struts (as bare struts)

200b have bigger spring perch and have shorker shocks, a bit over an inch more travel...apart from that they are the same

Re: the Maddat conversion...

The 200B hub needs to be both machined down in diameter & also depth to maintain correct offset, otherwise the alignment between rotor & caliper is incorrect.

Sure, some people may be able to do this, but the majority will not. If this is not machined correctly, the results could be catastrophic.

The caliper also needs scalloping to clear the edge of the bracket.

Maddat is happy to do kits with people supplying their own calipers, but this is the minimum they will do.

I bought this conversion, and see it as a case of you get what you pay for.

so you couldnt space the caliper out and and get the centre of the disc machined out to the size of the datsun hub

most people can get a hold of washers, and any machining place or any one with a lathe could bore out the centre of the hub
and if you were making your own bracket you would think you would just get the offset on that right first time round ....saving extra work to get the offset correct
