i know a bit about installing a commodore v6 into a 1200

but i believe that the nissan v6s, 300zx motor, are a fair bit wider so would be harder to fit

If its any thing like a 510 it will be tight but workable.

A V6 in an auto-x 1200 would mess up your handling severely. Unless you are able to do a set back i.e. cut the fire wall I wouldn't consider it at all. The VG's are tight enough in the 300Z's.

How about using an SR20DE? Would be just as fast and they handle reasonably with a spring change.

cant be any harder than fitting a 383 chev in there

that pic is of the single came vg30, so i think there would be no chance at all of the quad cam version fitting

i wonder if a vh45 would fit in

See V6 into 1200 discussion. Why stop with the 3.0, 3.3 or 3.5 V6? Go for the small Nissan V8 from an infiniti or the 5.6 liter from a truck. Or even the twin-turbo VG30DETT...

Ah, but weight. The VG30 fully dressed weighs about 360 pounds, which is pounds/HP ratio of:
A12: 2.45 pounds/HP
VG30: 2.25 pounds/HP
So advantage to VG30... but at twice the weight not so good for rallycrossing? See wiki - Engine weights

Too bad Nissan didn't make a supercharged four, that might work well (low weight/high power, no turbo lag).
