1. A hefty sign up fee to become part of the business "to show you are serious"
2. Taking a % of your "downstream" sales
3. You are pushed to keep signing up people below you.
4. They want you to buy motivational tapes, DVD, go to conferences...far a small charge.
There are hundreds of these 'companies' around selling everything from toiletries to home phone plans.
If you are in deep, the best thing to do is cancell your credit card and walk away, the longer you stay the poorer you will be.
There is a list of dodgy companies on that MLM website - have a look through it.
A bunch of people at my company got into one of these scams Omegatrend it was called....they are all a lot poorer now.
