hey all - i have been told that for an engineer to pass my ute (a15, 200b frontend), i have to have the original carbie and all pollution gear hooked up to it - even
the original airfilter! bugger that - was the engineer i talked to cranky, or are all engineers like this?
has anyone gone to datspeed (penrith)for engineering? who was the other mob someone mentioned a while ago?someone brothers i think...

also, how hardcore is a blueslip inspection? will they go over the ute with a magnifying glass? will they knock it back for being undercoated?
cheers, Linc...

Im kinda in the same position as u at the moment. Pink slip is the bastard slip. This is the one were they check out everything from wheels to brake lights, a blue slip is only needed if
u have changed the engine over with another A12 or A14. If u have changed the engine over and it has an A15 in it, it will need to be engineered then blue sliped. They shouldnt knock u
back if its in undercoat either.

My rego is due in 2 weeks and my coupes on 2 wheels with no gearbox or flywheel!! So thats my task for the weekend. And i havent got an engineer report for the big brakes either!! Lucky i
know people that will pass it no matter what i've done :) Man i hate rego time....

Loening Brothers at peakhurst.
Near peakhurst pub.

As for all of the standard pollution gear, it depends on what ADR's your car covers. I think my 1200 has 3 or 4 ADRs (Australian Design Rules) that it has to pass. Pollution equipment
is not one of them. This is why old car revheads exist..is it pre ADR 26 or 27a? I think that's the pollution one.

Blue slip guys are allowed to be much more fussy than pink slip ones. They are monitored much more closely by the authorities. And Blue slip signatory licenses aren't cheap to come
by.

Some blue slip guys aren't fussy at all. My Dad got his SR20DET powered AE86 Toyota through Engineering/Blueslip/Rego a few months ago in 1/2 a day.
