Still waiting on my adaptor plate for the Powerglide transmission so I got busy with other projects. Started the gauge cluster panel. 1/8th sheet of Aluminum and some cutting and drilling. I still have some more cutting for switches, LED lights and the radio.
The finish is a wire wheel and some Marvel Mystery oil. Takes the shine off a little and makes it look a little vintage.
I have all the gauges. Going to start rewiring everything.

Only 160mph sure it's enough for your machine

Well the next one down was a 120mph. I figured on that one I'd be wrapping it back to zero. Probably would have got a 140mph if they would have had one.

Ok, who wants to participate?
Below is a picture of my new gauge cluster panel.
I have a total of 10 gauges that I am installing.
The Tach and Boost gauge are going to be on the top of my dash board and the Speedometer is already showing so that leave 7.

Voltage
Fuel Pressure
Air Fuel Mixture
Engine Radiator Temp
Oil Pressure
Transmission Fluid Temp
Fuel Level

And just to let you know that hole #5 is mostly covered by the steering wheel when sitting in the seat.

Where would you put your gauges and if so, what more would you add?

I'll let you know what I chose soon.
The holes for the turn signal indicators and warning lights have already been drilled. It actually turned out pretty good for yesterday and todays work.
I'm starting to pull out the old wire bundles as well. The only wire I'm keeping is the parking and head lights. The stereo wire is new so that's staying as well. Everything else is getting scrapped.

Why the Trans. Temp in #5? I thought I'd put the fuel level in #5.

Pity you couldnt do 1,4 and 5 closer to the speedo so they are more visible within the steering wheel.
Like this example, but with 2 more gauges below which are missing but shows top layout
http://image.vwtrendsweb.com/f/featur ... etle_hot_rod%2Bgauges.jpg
Yet maybe your wheel is very small for drag racing! cant remember it on the vids.
prob most important after rpm & afr are Oil Pressure, Engine rad Temp, Trans Temp

Looking good though!
