Finally installed the Fire Storm Progressive nitrous system the other day. Decided to put in the glove box out of the way. More clutter otherwise. I cant reach it with my restrained on but I don't really need to touch it unless I want to change the preset settings. I can program 5 different settings. I was running 125hp shot prior and that was about all my tires could handle without spinning. I am now up to a 175hp shot with a progressive start at 125hp and ending up at 175hp over 2 seconds. Was working on it last week with a transmission swap. Was having trouble with the trans brake and thought it might have been the pump so I decide to swap it out for another complete transmission and came across the same problem. Racing was yesterday. I chose not to foot brake it and just didn't race.

Pulled and trashed the cardboard glovebox and installed a piece of sheet metal. Added a on/off switch. Turned out good. I had a chance to run it and was very impressed.

Yikes. That's more HP than a Datsun 1200 and it's just a boost.

Well I'm hoping that I have achieved success. Took the torque converter back and had it changed over from the stock input shaft to the turbo shaft. Running 1.82 first gear instead of the 1.76. Took the valve body apart and cleaned it and put the thing back together. I'm still getting a slight forward roll with the Transbrake but I remedied that. Wired in a relay and tied the Transbrake to the brake Line Lock and now the car sticks!!!
Changed the ATF fluid from Dexron to Type F. All the drag racers run Type F or Hydraulic Fluid. Drove it today and it seems to be running great.
Racing next Sunday and looking forward to it.

Thanks!! I did replace the ignition coil today. I have always used Accel coils over MSD. I don't know why but MSD coils have never really performed in my car. I have never had good results with MSD.
After my last race a couple of months ago my Accel coil went bad. It was studdering over 5k rpms. So I replaced it with the MSD coil I had lying around in my garage. Never raced with it because my car has had tranny trouble and I've been doing other stuff.
Today I was trying to tune the car and it just wasn't running right. Then I remembered the coil. Went done to the auto parts and picked up a new Accel coil. Didn't take long for my car to tell me that's what it needed.
I'll be doing minor stuff this week before racing this Sunday.
Saturday is Import Night at the track. Some people say I should bring my car. Not really my thing. I'm sure my car would get a lot of looks and maybe some awards.
The car show will be on the fairgrounds. The guy who runs the drags will be doing an open rally so I might go to that.

Well racing actually went very well. I ran my fastest time at a 6.44 even after the car running flat on its face the last second of every race. Yes, I was starving for fuel. My starts were awesome, shifting into drive was awesome but after that the car would not stall out but would just flat line.
I have some larger Weber needle-seats on order and I'm going from 1/4" to 3/8" fuel line from the regulator to the carbs.
Other then that, my 175hp shot was a nice rush.

Congrats on your quickest run ever. A lot of work, but the results speak for itself.

Thanks Dave!!!

Drag Video

Attached is a video of myself and my kid. The GoPro picked up a lot of noise.
You can see the Tach flat line at 5K rpm after shifting into drive.
Pulls hard off the line and shifts hard at 7200 rpm.
Im working on making some better times for this Sunday.
