I know this has been covered before but I can't find the info I require, When trying to remove my water temp sensor the outer threaded part unscrews and leaves the inner core securely attatched to the head.
The question is should I try and pull it out or do I need to remove the head?
Oh and its the stock water temp sensor in an A series head.
Thanks in advance :)

yea but nthe good thing about removing the head is you will get to find out what internals your running

then it wont be such a mystery

soak it for days and days with crc.. it might loosen up, but you'll still need to replace it..

Ouch... That's not suppose to stick in there.

Pulling the head isn't a half bad idea though. You can get an idea of what condition the rest of your engine is in.

Maybe if I unscrew the outer bit again & run the engine till its nice and hot it might blow out on its own!
But surely vise grips would work.

having the head off won't help you get the sender out at all...

This is actually quite common: they stick in the head.

Dundee is quite right, removing the head won't help at all.

Just use vice-grips to twist & turn until it comes out.
