have got myself a pair of 40 DHLA F dellortos to put on my mild a15 currently 32mm choke 52 primary 145 main 210 air corector 7772.8 emusion tubes 33 acc pump jet wot is everyone running in there carbys thanks tommo

These carbs work quite differently to the std non-emmission DHLA's (non suffix) and you are quite restricted to the jetting of the idle circuit. Check out the 2nd post in the below link for info on how they work.. http://www.rsmotorsport.com.au/forums ... 549882d0d6963ab1d9dde6f4cI am playing with a set of these to modify them back to full adjustability (involving JB Weld and a dremel! :-O). Hopefully will work out as it makes them a cheap set of sidies..!

Note, you cannot use any other idle air corrector than the one it comes with as the idle air corrector is actually the small brass bush in the top of the jet stack, NOT in the idle jet holder as std.
It is possible to get a precision machined bush made to make these smaller which usually helps with smaller displacement engines.

I am running:
32mm choke ?? primary 140 main 180 air corector 7772.8 emusion tubes 40 acc pump jet
Need to get the car back on the dyno to check the setup though as soon as I rectify the Pain in the butt flooding carby!

thanks levey anyone else?? need to order rebuild kits but thay come with jets so need to get jets close before ordering. is ebay best for kits need good gaskets may look at boosting carbys in the future? tommo

Hey Tommo, I'm sure you can find someone based in Aus but for guaranteed quality I use these guys. They are expensive but the parts are OEM and shipping takes about a week, shipping is typically cheap with small parts but of course the more you buy they will be happy to consolidate the orders. Oh and your jetting table looks pretty good. The accelerator pump jets may need to go a little higher but I'm not familiar with the accelerator pump setup on dello's so you may get away with it (as some pumps can be adjusted to compensate for the smaller pump nozzle and instead pump a longer duration of injection). Maybe a set of 40's and 45's would be good to have on side.
Is the accelerator pump adjustable on the dellorto carburetor?
Your air corrector is also quite high so you may want some a little lower than that perhaps around the 180 mark. But what you have there will run on the motor, I guess you won't really know till you some road runs or dyno sessions.

thanks cris i also have jet drills the jetting i have is std oem jetting wot chemical do u clean/soke your carbys with the acc pump diaphram arm is pushed by a spring so u can adjust stroke/pressure by adjusting sring preload

Yeah righto, I am running 40 pump nozzles on my little A12 and it still delivers so much that I've backed the accelerator pump completely off so the duration of the injection is short and heavy. I need smaller nozzles and a longer duration with lighter delivery to pull the engine into the main circuit quicker (and power-band) and with less hesitation.
For carb cleaner I have used some basic degreasers, citrus works fairly well (surprisingly). Weber alloy is much more robust and can handle any degreaser and can even take paint stripper to clean it up. Solex/Mikuni's are a more delicate alloy and you have to be careful with what degreasers you use as some will scar and taint the surface.
As for dellorto's just give it a go with a quality degreaser and some hot water. I spray mine when they are dry, scrub them thoroughly and then leave then in some very hot water with degreaser in it. I repeat that over and over again to get a good result.

For very heavy soiled carbs I have boiled them in a mixture of 1:6 lemon juice and water, cleans them up like new but as with any acidic cleaner can pit the metal if left in too long.
