Looks good Darren.
What type of paint did you use? You get it all sealed up and that motor will be looking sweet for years.

I remember the days of rebuilding the A series motor. A14's and A15's. I had a few of them. They are all gone now. Funny thing is, is that The original A12 out of my car, I still own. Never rebuilt it. I have the gaskets set and bearing no rings though. I thought maybe when my boys want to learn how to rebuild a motor, they could have at it (under my supervision). Right now they have no interest because they are to young to drive. Maybe in a couple of years when they are old enough.

I think I'll have time to get out in the garage and work on my car today. I have a KA24DE intake to hack up today.

It has the same compression as the shallower but larger dish. The offset dish is designed to be used with the quench-type cylinder head.

I am using heat oil and gas resistant paint in the tin.Very high glossy in person!Nice info on your a series engines. I will be keeping my A12 an storing it away with the original 56l transmission.I wont be taking much off to swap to my a15 only the alternator and starter.Hope you was sucessfull at that manifold!
Thanks dd.I notice that the h89 head has that slant in the ports.I haven't add much to the a15,only the fuel, oil & water pump with there gaskets.

Yes, H98 is a quench head too (quench/wedge/heart-shaped = closed chamber). It is best for power and fuel economy.
