I got mine from Kev Rowley (try emailing him at k_rowley@iprimus.com.au as he hasn't been on this site for awhile.

Otherwise there was another member that was making some..who might respond to your post.

Good luck with it. I haven't actually finished my brake system so can't actually comment on how good the S13 conversion is, but it's gotta be better than the standard brakes!!

I can't speak highly enough of the improvement that the s13 brake upgrade is. I've not yet had my car on a race track, but driving it as hard as I dare on country roads/balls to the wall on long windy downhill stretches, I've never even had so much as smell hot, much less even think of fading. And I'm running the cheapest nastiest pads that repco sell for them too. (And they're the 2nd had ones that came with the calipers too!)

I had a bunch of adapters laser cut, and even made a jig for drilling them too. But my plates require a tiny bit to be ground off the caliper. I showed the cert guy, and he said it was fine. (He even called his son over, and told him he should use the conversion on his 120Y!)
Plus I'm in NZ. So someone closer to you will have some surely.

+1 for Kev Rowley. he doesn't charge a massive amount for the adapter plates, and I reckon that since he worked the conversion out, it's not unreasonable to send a few bucks his way for the effort.

In terms of strut conversions - it really depends on the app. about the main criticism of the early 1200 struts is the wheel bearings themselves are pretty small. The second issue is that the strut inserts need to be a smaller diameter to fit inside, and that means they'll run hotter for the same given damping force and driving style.

On a streeter, I'm still in the KISS camp and reckon the original struts with ca18det s13 brakes are the go. I'd make the point that a lot of people adjust wheel bearings wrong, and just a fraction too loose and they wear out exceptionally quickly. Get em just right, and they last a hell of a long time (this doesn't just apply to Datsuns either). Unfortunately the 'big' risk is doing them too tight can lead not only to 'wear' (like a little too loose can) but it can also lead to catastrophic failure, and the faster you go or the harder you corner, the more likely that becomes, so it will happen (if at all) generally at the worst possible time. For this reason, I'm loathe to detail any tricks to adjust wheel bearings as inevitibly someone will go a touch tighter and put themselves in real peril. Better to run them too loose and just deal with accelerated bearing wear.
