G'day all,just having a shed tidy up and found a few bits that i don't think i will get around to using.I have a set of datsun 1200 'Wallys' 304 grade stainless steel extractors tri y style copied off SSS automotive's set that they sold,brand new never been on a car $600 ono plus postage.Also have an brand new aluminium custom EFI manifold with a s/h 60mm throttle body with sensor,to suit oval port heads ie A12GX,A14 & A15,does not come with any injectors,$550 ono plus postage.I also have a Lynx D1200 round port sidedraught weber/dellorto inlet manifold in good condition $150 plus postage!

That EFI manifold looks very much like Simon's handy-work. Nice setup that, nice long runners.

And the round ports on the extractors are interesting.

I've done some reading on exhaust port shapes and exhaust manifold shapes and sizes to suit ports.

Basically if the round manifold port is bigger than the square head port it can upset - exhaust - gas - backflow - back into the chamber.

David Vizard - 'How to tune an A - series', is a good place to start.

Yeah that all makes sense, all the exhaust flanges I make have considerable oversize some up to 3mm further than the port edge, but I never imagined going that big around the exhaust ports, so i 'd be interested to hear about it.

Chris it's a very good book, someone like yourself would get a lot out of it.

It's about the English A - series engine but there is so much good information in it.

I first read most of it back in '85 but the old man got sick of me borrowing it and told me to piss off and by my own, so I did, I still refer back to it even today. I like it because nearly every mod he does he backs up with a dyno comparison.
