Obviously the orignals are fixed back and I found them pretty good. With the race seat I took out the original and stuck in a Sparco fixed back and it sucked. Might have something to do with fact that im 6'2 but it just wasnt comfy. The 'wings' on the seat made getting in and out a pain in the ass and for longer cruises it simply wasnt comfy. Ended up taking it out, getting the original reupholstered and stuck it back in.

I too am 6,2 tall and found it hard gettin in and out of the bucket seat in my ute, I also found that i would get sore knees after a while of driving not sure if it was the extra effort needed to push the cable clutch and non boosted brakes or that i was in a more cramp position than i was use too. The wings on the headrest also makes it hard to view your blind spot too. Apart from these problems i found the seat was comfortable and held me in really well around corners

Race seats work great in race cars...............for the street, not so much. See if you can find some nice seats from a modern. As for fixed back they are meant to work in conjunction with with a harness, hence the fixed back (yes once upon a time fixed back were in all cars)..........seems like you'd be giving up flexibility.......change for everyday vs. long road trip,

Tom
