Back in 2007, my A12 sedan went down the 1/4 mile.
Yesteday, same engine powered my ute down the same track.

2007: 19.887 @ 65.18 mph with 3.90 diff
2012: 19.951 @ 66.33 mph with 4.11 diff

Engine: 1171 cc
Gearbox: standard 4-speed
Tires: Yokohama 165/55R12

The long box ute weighs a bit more, plus FULL fuel tank and spare H165 diff. And engine with 5 more years of wear. Still equaled it.

Tough crowd. The slowest car may have been this stripped Toyoda B-box but it was still plenty fast. Raced it twice, it did 16.5s.

This is where you pick up the timeslips after going down the track

Raced this V8 Vega, of course it was much faster than mine. But he blew coolant out, and had to tow it away.

I hopped in my 1200 and drove it 400 kms at 4500 RPM all the way home.

It is stock, with stock carburetor but with big extractors and 2.5 inch exhaust.

Funny combination

The biggest problem is big wheel tramp. I basically lost a second on every run just taking off.

yea mine wasnt too bad for tramping ,main problem was the spark wasnt strong enough up highand it ran out of legs

the first run i did for the night was 16ish seonds then the second run i got into the 15s ,it went down hill from there and the stock coil couldnt keep up ,wouldnt go any more than 120km in top gear

woulod like to take it back down the strip with the msd ignition and and better tyres ,wheelspin was a big problem too even with a locker
