We get these motors easily in aus 2nd hand. Great 4lt v8. Respond well to boost via turbo or super chargers.

Shame is we can't engineering here possibly now.

He got extra space by mounting rad forward of the rad support panel. Not a great solution if he gets a love tap from a reversing toe ball

bit of an unfair comparison their D, the nissan quad cams and stupidly big compared to the toyota V8s. my brother has a 1UZ sitting in a ke26 at the moment....they arent that hard to fit. just really long coz they have all the accesories mounted infront of the engine and 2 dizzys sticking out the front of them

Love this comment by ottopilot on ft86club:

Yup. I'm not averse to any engine architecture that gives me the power I want for as little weight as possible. The LS V8 does lend itself to being swapped into smaller/lighter-weight cars much more readily than physically bigger DOHC V-engines. And thanks to Camaro SS sales (nothing but donor cars to me!), there will be a good supply of LS3s and T6060 transmissions for some time to come

I think a corolla with 1uzfe is great combo but a 1200 ute would be far better off with a Y44 nissan v8 found one at ekw for $1200 when they where available there some years ago.

In reality here is where a chevy v8 should belong in :)

i was meaning using the nissan v8 to show the size of a quad cam v8.....the nissan engine would make a 1uz look small also

and im pretty sure once you add the manifolds to the LS they end up being nearly as wide as a 1uz, and they are also almost the same height and length. They just look smaller, especially when the one in the pic has no accesories

no the ls1 is smaller there is no optical illusion the in manifolds are all there on the pic both missing ex manis.

Yep but the quad cam v8 in pic is close to the nissan chain vh series yep 1uz is smaller but I think its longer. Nissan v8 chain driven no belts to bother about, VK series even smaller.

VH45: 710 + 800 +640 = 2150 cm
1UZFE: 660 + 700 + 710 = 2070 cm
