Yes, stock ute rim 4" wide. 5.5" is fine too. 7" can work if it is a high offset, but most 7" don't fit very well.

hitting the top of the gaurds with the side wall of the tyre....would a wider and lower profile tyre work?

You could try but it's all dependent on wheel offset. If they are sticking out guards it's,not legal anyway.

I couldn't use 165 75 but could use 165 65.

175 70 was fine on 6 inch wide.

Now running 175 50 13 lol.....

Hey,

I reckon your tyre ratio is the problem, there's alot of rubber there and the wider rims don't help. You need a smaller tyre profile. 165/55 or 165/6. To get even more low get some 175/50. The alternative is to use some different, much narrower rims.

Shame your not in Melbourne, I have 2 165 65 13 sitting here. Zeetex 101. Even SupAfatto supposed how much grip they carry into and through a corner
