ATM I'm putting my a12 turbo back together. I was going to chuck the carby setup back on but this sorta setup is tempting :p. I'll be using a r32 gtr n1 turbo so I'm hoping sikyne is doing something similar lol. Thanks for all your info BTW :)

RC, I'm going to use the stock air cleaner/filter with the turbo if I can make it all fit! All part of the stock look. Those EFI Hardware TBs would be great! They don't fit into this budget by a long way!

Yeah Matto, I'm using single turbo of an R32 twin turbo. But have taken out the ceramic turbine and replaced it with a steel one. I think they call it the N1 upgrade. The R34's have a larger turbine I believe. So I think we have equivalent turbo's.

I'll do some testing at 12Psi first to see what it makes for those that want to run the standard ceramic turbo(they are cheap too).

I went to my engine man's today and flow tested the two manifolds.
One with the standard carb and the other with the TB. It was only a 26% improvement with the TB, but this was due to the manifold being the restriction, not the TB. Testing though one runner, the TB flowed 63CFM at 10" and the Carb one flowed 50CFM at 10". We unfortunately didn't have time to test each runner and the carb and TB without manifolds.

RC, I use MSII with Tuner Studio (TS), TS has a pretty nice statistically averaged auto-map tuning feature which I like a lot. I think it works with MSI but you'd want to check. The license for full features (which you need to autotune) is pretty cheap, under 100 from memory. All you need to do is get it idling, have a guess at the VE map and go driving (there's a bit more to it but not much).

27% Flow increase with the TB is not bad at all.

Its not too bad, but would have to port the manifold to improve it any more.

Just for anyone thinking of this for a non turbo setup, The standard air cleaner and seal fits the TB very well, you would use a thicker alloy plate under the TB to get the filter height back to std.
Using the standard filter assy with the turbo will be a lot more difficult, but worth a go I think.

Im contemplating a cannon manifold with a pressure box bolted up where the carbs would be.

The Injector still hasnt turned up. I might do the turbo manifold next. Its also going to be fairly basic. As merge collectors can be a bit tricky and take up a lot of space, this will be a variation of a log style manifold.

The turbo will be mounted low and rearward, and angle down slightly at the back. It will hide better(for that stealth look) and the tilt down at the rear will make the dump pipe easier and cheaper to install and fabricate(less bends, better access).
I'll put up plenty of pics to help. I might even paint the comp cover black to help hide it all.

Im looking forward to it aswell.. It wont be too impresive, but hopfully will make a good stealthy streater that doesnt blow too many std gearboxes!

Ive got some very budget ideas on how to double the clutch capacity.. but that is a bit experimental and will get to that after its running.

I hope u have a good stash of gearboxs 😊
I have an a15 sitting in the shed that might get the same treatment, but I'll go with the log manifold as I don't have a standard one for the h89... Great thread
