Anyone looked at whether a CG13 engine will fit into a 1200? It's a 1.3L twin cam and at 80kg weighs less than an A12.

I hadn't heard of this one before. Looks like it is an "industrial" engine ... 42hp. Applications: Forklift trucks, Loaders, Sweepers, Farm tractors, Motor graders, etc. Only 3,000 USD. The cool thing is that it's all aluminum only 176 lbs ... EFI available. Compare that to:

A12____ - 87 kg _192 lbs
A14____ - 93 kg _205 lbs
tech section

Hey, here's the mythical EFI forklift A15: http://www.tatepowerltd.com/nissan_engines_a15.htm

As far as the EFI for the A-15 forklift engine goes, the forklift places I went to could find NOTHING regarding EFI. I haven't looked around that link yet, other than a quick glance, but I intend to.

cg13 or the mini sr 1.3 is usually front wheel drive and theres one for sale on Feral's site ratdats.com.au for 700aus he said that apparantely someone in NZ put a worked one in rwd datto and spins till the cows come home. Hower they have small room for high po (around 78hp factory) for such small ports close to water jackets and lack of stroker cranks to bring it up to rock.
The suzuki g16b from the baleno is all alloy and flows 40cfm standard more with its 16v sohc than the restricted water jacket lower flowing g13b gti twin cam 16v engine. Its all in the ports!!!!

Nismo list parts, there's throttle bodies, cams etc around...
Saw one adapted to a T50 toyota box with throttle bodies, headers etc. Never saw it run though...
Nice unit....

Here's some more info on the CG13
http://www.micra.hl.com.au/specs.asp
One of their members cars is reportedly putting out 120kW at the wheels, with a turbo of course. Barry

There is one in the Clevedon/Papakura in NZ that has forgies and amotec and puts out 165hp. It is in a datsun 1200 rally car.

The engine weighs 57 kg as a long motor without flywheel.

The Clevdon engine sounds like the same one Tim and I knew off, it was in Tim's brother's Lotus 7 clone. The Datto God Reg Cook actually came down from Auckland and bought the engine himself...hmmm 165HP well I guess it had to be something good if Reg wanted it!!

Does anyone know which RWD transmissions fit this engine, or is a custom adapter plate used?
