OK, now this leads me to my next question. Obviously these figures are with the origanal A series engine. Wot if i put in a FJ20T and then weighed it? I need to get to 800kgs for
it to be legal, so how much does the FJ weigh?? 60-70kgs is a lot and i doubt the FJ is 60-70kgs more than the A12. But it was just a thought. Any ideas/input?

hmmm, need more weight??

what about adding a few spiffy extras, would that help the weight, look, performance??

*bigger brakes (i assume u already have though)?

*bigger battery, more cranking amps the better (a CAT battery)??

*i dunno if checkerplate mats are your thing, but that adds weight and look..

*diffs and gearboxes that u always wanted??

*what mags, tyres u running, you will need the grip with an FJ, 245's on the rear are pretty heavy, and they like 1200 gearboxes (at least
eating second gear).

u could add weight in many ways, to improve performance and stuff, usually everyone is trying to lose weight, so i'd say u are in a pretty good
situation.....

my thoughts anyway.....

Hi Davo,

That's a great idea to increase the weight of the coupe until you can legally put a FJ20T in it, but I have a feeling the RTA would not accept any different weights for
the Coupe. The original weight with the A12 or nothing at all! Pity though.

Thats what was thinking. The RTA would still think of it as a 730kg car, even if the weight of it was 800kg. But i would like to
try it one day.

Well, i dont have anything at the moment. Thats why i am trying to get some ideas flowing. I allready have a good idea on what im going to do.(brakes, diff etc....) the engine is
still yet to be determined. Maybe Andrews A14, maybe a Fj or Ca18. Who knows. It depends on the power/weight/cost/legal factors.

So where abouts are you? Maybe you could post some pics when you get a
chance.
Must be a pretty tight fit!

I paid $2500 Australian for my engine & gearbox package, including wiring, loom etc..
Pretty cheap really!
