I hate to ask stupid questions without doing much research but I'm going to buy an electric fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and battery relocation kit when I get home from work tomorrow from Summit because it takes so long for stuff to get here from the states. And I need to buy it soon and my old engine is out now and I'm building the new one now and need to have everything ready.

The engine will be an A14 bored to 1500cc with solex 40mm carbs, Tomei manifold, flat top pistons with Nismo .8mm head gasket 78 degree cam with enlarged (haven't measured yet) valves (almost touching eachother they're so big) and a worked GX head. Exhaust will be a header of some sort (have one but havent worked the details yet). I have pointless ignition with MSD 6AL with Blaster SS coil and Accel wires.

Hope this info helps with some answers. Thanks everyone for putting up with me .

is the question what sort to buy?ok why did you want an elec. fuel pump? the a14 mech. should flow enough. i did this with twin 40dcoe webbers on my a15 with a holley pressure regulator worked fine. the holley reg. was handy because it had two outlets.

Yep what sort. I don't have a mech. pump... the previous owner had a block off plate where the pump once was.

The problem that we found was that the original line from the tank was too small Only 6mm, I think) so we used 1/2" thin wall tube with 3/8" soldered either end. With a Holley Red Pump and Regulator,it now works fine with 2 X 44 Mikunis on a 1500 cc engine. Its probably overkill but were running lean under load with the original set up.
The moral is that you have to look at the WHOLE system, not just from the pump to carb section. Also, Its best to put the pump as close to the tank as possible.

2332owner, probably the easiest thing is to get a stock mechanical pump.

If you go electric, get an extra-low-pressure pump, like 5 lbs. Best to find out what Mikunis require, but Weber and Dellortoes I think are 3.5 lbs (5 lbs seems to be OK as well). Of course with a regulator you don't need to worry as much.

the a15 had the highest flow rate of all A series engines if you go the mech. roue or nissan had a good electric pump in the aussie bluebird series III (b910 i think??) I am using 1 of these for a prime pump to a surge tank.12mm(1/2") is bloody big , 10mm(3/8) might be easier to bend up, and big enough. but there are heaps of elect. pumps avail. (holley are known to be noisey)
