I was just imagining an early Camaro style cowl induction hood on a 1200. Anybody tried it? Know if it's been done? Think it would rock? or be hideous?

The only one I could find that would come close to fitting is # SC-117 on this page.

But... I'd rather a steel one since fiberglass dosen't look the greatest.

During the 80s, the popular thing was a Mustang 428-style hood scoop. I saw many 1200s with those, sized down of course.

I've never seen a Z-28 style cowl inducation hood, but I picture that it would look good!

Would you be running a V6, then?

Down under the General's Holden Torana was fitted with a similar bonnet scoop. It was fitted to the hot SLR and A9X models. There was a scaled down version of the A9X scoop known as the A6X sold though various outlets and suits the 1200 perfectly. Does anyone in OZ know if they are still available??

Stop reading my mind 2332owner! Seriously though, I have also thought about making one by cutting the centre section out of a rusted bonnet then welding it to the top of a good bonnet with about 2inches of height added in to get the Z/28 cowl induction style. Using the centre of a bonnet to make the scoop would retain the factory rib which I think looks cool! If I do make it I'll post some pictures of it 'cause I reckon it would look awesome. I'm a bit of a 1st gen Camaro fan ('67-'69) so this way I could have a bit of camaro resemblence without the A$30,000 price tag!
Cheers, Shane
