Lamps, lights. Parking lights, running lights. Whatever you call them, Datsun 1200s have them.

North America lights

Side Lights

• Side lamps come in two sizes: small and large

Side lamps are larger on North American models, also the fenders come with a larger hole to match. Euro/Asia guards/wings can be used on America 1200s, if the hole is enlarged.

Front Lights

• Front running light lenses are either all-red or red + orange

Reportedly the lamp housing is different so that you cannot simply swap lenses.

Rear Lights

Rear light lenses are either:

• yellow-red-white, white-red-yellow

or

• red-red-white, white-red-red

Yellow & red: Australian market, while all red in America, Japan and South Africa markets.

Rear License Plate Lamp

For USA market, the rear number plate light changed in 1973 to meet higher government standards of illuminating the plate.

• 5 INTERIOR LIGHT 1972-1973 Seat belt light (on top of dash)
• 6 INTERIOR LIGHT Room lamp
• 7 DASH LAMP with twist-lock holder (7 used in round dash)
• 8 EXTERIOR LAMP Side-marker, License, Reverse
• 9 DASH LAMP Turn Signal indicator (2 needed)
