Model Year?

"(Note that most export markets were at least one year behind the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) as far as their new model changeovers were concerned.)"

Is that accurate? Japan dates are usually quoted in calendar year agreed, but it seems their "model year" is similar to USA -- they are just more often quoting dates in calendar year. I have the Nissan JDM parts catalog. It lists B110 "1973 model" and B210 "1974 model". Just in the USA, the production line starts up early, usually before the beginning of the next calendar year.

You could be right about that. My documentation sources do not differentiate between production dates and sales years. I'll make the necessary changes and edit some other misleading bits.

Wheelbase?

According to the Nissan documentation, both PB210 and regular B210 use a 2340 mm wheelbase. See the Wheelbase article for specifications and references to Nissan documents.

So I removed the references to wheelbase differences between PB210 and the "SWB" B210 (regular B210). If you can point out Nissan documentation that says otherwise I will put it all back in.

I have no documentation re: SWB, only a visual comparison, so your deletion is appropriate.

Additionally, I removed remaining references to SWB, and heavily edited the Datsun 140Z/160Z section as some of the material was misleading.

As I was unaware of this Editing talk section, I should comment that the changes I made to earlier revision(s) of this page were to address brevity and clarity.

Thanks Mat. In general your re-wording is better than mine clumsy words. Eventually we will have the most accurate information on the 'net.

In the interest of brevity and clarity, we should probably take any non-essential images out of the text body and move them to the "Photo Index" section you've just created.

Formatting Tips

Here are some Wikimedia formatting tips:

  • Bullet points can use * for unordered <li> and # for numbered <li>
  • Bullets include an automatic line break, so no need to add the <br>
  • a space at the beginning of a line puts that line in a box, but doesn't work well for long lines
  • In Wikimedia you don't need to use <br> or <p>, although sometime <br> helps visually connect paragraphs in the Edit view
    • Single spacing (pressing ENTER) is ignored by Wiki
    • Double spacing (two line breaks) renders the same as <br>
    • Triple-spacing renders as a blank new then a new paragraph (i.e. works like <p>)

A lot of the content I moved from the old Tech Section. It was very particular about HTML (more than web browsers) so some of the content here uses a lot of HTML that looks all bunched together in the Edit view. In any case, Wikimedia renders it just fine in Article view.
