They're all right here in the Datsun 210 Wagon. It has standard features that'll make you feel downright prosperous, plus the kind of solid dependability you can count on. And just look at the size of that load area! Of course the 210 Wagon has our traditional gas-saving ways.*

Touch the rich knit-fabric upholstery. Reach down and run your hand over that thick cut-pile carpeting. It's more than just beautiful. It's also durable, to keep on looking elegant year after year.
Now look around. The rear seat backs fold down separately or together so you can carry people, or things, or both, for maximum flexibility.
Both front seats recline, of course. That goes for the glove-soft vinyl ones in the Deluxe models, too. It's a luxury touch that doesn't even show up in some "luxury" cars.
Next to you there's a roomy map pocket in the door. Look out the windows and you'll see a pair of sporty jet-black mirrors. Overhead the optional Sport Luxury sky roof tilts up for fresh summer breezes and lifts out for wide-open spaces.
For your comfort, there's flow-through ventilation, teamed with bi-level heating, a three-speed fan and optional fully integrated air conditioning. And for extra peace of mind, all rear doors have child-safety locks.

Grasp the richly wrapped wheel of a Sport Luxury Datsun 210. You'll know at once you've got your hands full of a well-designed, superbly executed automobile — even if it does save you money.
Big, readable instruments gleam before you. The speedometer on one side to measure road speed. The tachometer on the other to measure engine speed. A glance right and left will reveal the time, coolant temperature and fuel level.
The AM/FM radio awaits your pleasure with five station-selector buttons.
There's a light in the Wagon and Hatchback load area, quartz clock to keep the time and a vanity mirror for your passenger. The rear wiper and washer offer a clear view behind, while rectangular sealed-beam headlights offer a bright one ahead.
The Datsun 210 puts everything at your fingertips: control the lights from one stalk on the steering column, control the wipers and washer from another.
The horn buttons are neatly placed on the steering wheel spokes. There's a full array of warning lights and gauges and lots of other little amenities: coat hooks, assist grip, courtesy lights and instrument panel dimmer switch. Behind it all lies Nissan's single-minded devotion to quality.

When you add up Datsun 210 features, mileage* and price, it's easy to think of it as some kind of miracle.
And in some ways, it really is. The new optional automatic transmission, for example. It has a new gas-saving feature: a lock-up torque converter that delivers better gas mileage than ordinary automatics.
And at the heart of the 210 purrs a powerplant that's the very soul of economy. The famed Nissan four-cylinder overhead-valve engine has powered almost seven million cars in virtually every land on earth.
Yet this economical engine is so well-designed that it keeps turning up on the race course-and the winner's circle-all over the world. It has also logged over one billion miles in passenger cars.
Its five-main-bearing crankshaft provides stout support for extra engine life. The electronic 2-stage automatic choke delivers faster warmups, extra gas economy and lower emissions. A fluid-coupling fan comes on only when it's needed, so it saves gas, reduces noise and is virtually maintenance-free.
The fully transistorized ignition system gives longer spark plug life and has no points or condenser to replace at tune-up time. The built-in solid-state regulator needs no tune-ups at all. The full-flow oil filter means cleaner oil for longer engine life, the aluminum cylinder head means lower weight.
The engine comes in three sizes: Economy. More Economy. And Most Economy.
The 1.5-liter size powers all SL models, plus the Deluxe Sedans, Wagon and Hatchback. The 1.4-liter size powers the 5-speed 2-Door MPG Sedan (not available in California) and the 1.2-liter is in the four-speed 2-Door Standard Sedan. All promise generous gas mileage.
And the greatest economy of all: quality.
